Dear Mr. Jefferson,

We ordered a brochure from your company. Unfortunately the brochures have some mistakes in them.

The brochures have first of all two spellings mistakes in the names. The name of War Child was written like this: Wrath Child, than the name of the Dutch ambassador Marco Borsato you wrote wrong. You writed Macro Bortsao. The other mistake you made was, that you placed a picture in the brochure of Didier Drogba, but he wasn't a war child. So that's misleading for the people.

No my question is. Can you repair these problems fast so that we can spread them and without any costs. If you not take our complaint seriously we will take juridical steps to make sure that you can repair this for free. I can be reached every day except for the weekends between 8 pm and 5 am on the following number (010-1908010). I hope to hear from you soon.

With kind regards,

Dear Mister or Madam,

I’m a corporate communications student. I’m studying at the Faculty of Communication and Journalism of the Professional University of Utrecht in the Netherlands. I found a course on the website of the City College Manchester, English as a Foreign language. I thought that was a very interesting idea for me to follow that course.

I study, like I said before, at the Professional University of Utrecht. The study I’m following there is the study corporate communications. Before this study, I did the study Commercial Economy. But that didn’t work for me. I also finish the “HAVO” with an 7,44 as an average grade for English. The reason I want to follow this course because I want to expand my knowledge of the English language. It also would come in handy if speak English fluently because The Netherlands is a country of trades.

I would also like to get some information from you about, what the length of the course is, what the level of the course is, is there an exam or are there more exams and how much people you think will follow this course? I hope hearing from you soon.

With kind regards,

Memo+Buisness meeting preparations

Business meeting preparations:

-         I need to make sure that the magazine is going to be published in more languages for example German.
-         The magazine should be less glossy. And replaced by more news in simpler language.
-         All the pictures of the president should be removed.
-         More article about the everyday lives of ordinary employees
-         The content is to much pointed to the head office, with to much information about strategies and management.
-         We need to be able to get more information from the head office. There is no problem with sales figures and product information, but we don’t know who does what in the company.

Memo, assignment 4

TO: Management
FROM: Communications Department
DATE: 10th of October, 2010
SUBJECT: Super Sports Day

The reason for this memo is, the Communications staff think it would be nice to organize a Super Sports Day for all Dutch and American employees including their families.

These are the argument, why we think it would be great to organize this type of day.
-         It will give the company more credit from the employees.
-         The atmosphere under the employees will grow positively.
-         It is a great chance to let the employees of both countries exchange work experiences and to get to know the (work)cultures of each other

This is what I thought was a nice planning about how the Super Sports Day should look.
-         First we play some typical Dutch sports like “handbal” and “korfbal”.
-         Then it would be nice to play some typical American games like baseball and ice hockey.
-         Than I think it would be great to play two sports to decide witch Group has won the day. Sports like American Football and “soccer”.

I hope hearing from you soon with your feedback about this Super Sports Day.

Greetings.

Feyenoord (part 6)

Well hello people,

This was a quiet weekend for us Feyenoord fan(atic)s. This because our national team played a match Friday and is gonna play a match upcomming Tuesday. This rest period was welcome after the bad results from the last month. Maybe their going to preform better next week against Fc Twente. Luckly this is a match at home. The match also is on a Saturday night that makes it even more special. The atmosphere is than more intensifying than when the match is on a Sunday afternoon. That's why I think we can support them to a victory even though we have no chance. But the ball is round so there are always chances. Let's hope for a good result so that we can come closer to the fourth place. What I think should be the goal this year, agian.

Red and white greets!

Feyenoord (part 5)

Hello legionairs,
September has been a very dissapointing month for us! We lost every match and we stand on the 13th place in the competition. This is not the season we wished for! But we could expacted it with this team. There are many things wrong with club right now. Everybody is pointing at each other who's fault it is but nobody is looking for solutions. That's not the attitude we need right now. The problem is not; not enough money, a very young team or the wrong people in the direction. No it's the work spirit! You can see it on the pitch and off it, they aren't proud anymore to play or work for Feyenoord. They only see it as a nice way to pick up a lot of money! If the attitude of the people who work for the club changes I can insure you that the club is playing for the championship in 3 years! Now is the time to change everything and go up the mountain instead falling of the same mountain that is called Football!

Red and white greets,

Marc Willigenburg.

Feyenoord (part 4)

This was a terrible week for me! It started with the lost match against Aj... and if that wasn't horrible enough we we're kicked out of the "KNVB" Cup by Roda JC. The next day I was so angry, sad and sick that I couldn't go to school and missed the lesson English. But it wasn't that bad because my fellow students told me what they did in the class so I was up-to-date. For the match sunday against N.E.C. my expectations were high. But unfortunally we lost the game without any chance with 3-0 I hope this week will still go better than the last one. But if I should believe the clouds and the weatherforcast it will be a rainy week. That's not what I've hoped but I experienced worse. Next week Feyenoord needs toplay away against "De Graafschap" maybe we will win this match and gain a few places in the competition. Lets hope for better times!

Red and White greets!

Feyenoord (part 3)

This weekend was the weekend of the "klassieker" that's the match against Aj.. . This match is the most important one for both teams, you can say the clash of the titans. If we lose this match the season is ruïned unless we win the league. But that's not going to happen this year. The day started good with some drinking at 'Varkenoord', the place where we all come for the match to have a drink. After that we went to the 'Kuip' to see the match. The result was dissapointing we lost with 1-2. But the atmosphere in the stadium softed the pain. Unfortunately the away supporters could visit the match because they're banned out of our stadium and we are banned out of theirs. With the away crowd present the atmosphere is just more intense. The upcomming week there is another match so that we can forget this one and next year we will win this confrontation!!

Red and white greets!

Feyenoord (part 2)

This is the second part of the Feyenoord blog sequal.

Sunday was matchday number five of this season and we were up against Nac Breda. This is always a tough game to play, so we were a bit sceptic the evening before. After a good night full of partying I woke up just in time to see our boys play the match. This match was a great disappointment, because we lost with 2-0. After the match the rest of the day was a shitty one. So I didn't do my homework or other things I needed to do. Those things I needed to do on monday and that was no pleasure! The life of a student Feyenoord fan hasn't got that many highlights but it's still worthy to be one.
This was another part of the life of a student Feyenoord fan, red and white greets from your legionair!

Ass. 4: Memo
I've lost the file on my laptop because it was broken, but i hand it in so you already have an copy of it.

maandag 6 september 2010

Feyenoord (part 1)

First thing that came to my mind when we were asked to wright a blog was, to wright one about my favourite footballclub Feyenoord Rotterdam. I hear you thinking, what's the link with the life of a student? Well where I'm sitting/standing in the stadium the most fans are students or have the same age as a student. Because Feyenoord plays a big part in the life of the fans. Most fans even see supporting Feyenoord as a religion. That's to much for me but it definitely is controlling a part of my life. We don't make appointments on match days, some even take the day off when Feyenoord is playing. That's what it means to us/me.
I hope you going to amuse mine blogs that I'm going to write the upcomming weeks about the life of a student and a Feyenoord fan. Red and white greets!

Assignment 2

To: All staff members
From: Communications Department
Subject: Dress code

Dear staff members,

The reason for writing you this e-mail is, there are a lot of complaints about the way you dress at certain occasions. At the last gala dinner for example, someone was dressed in jeans and in a torned T-shirt with foul language written on it.

Now the management has asked to if you could come with ideas about the dress code at formal occasions. For example should we all come in a suit or should it be more casual? A dress code is a fine idea because it looks more professional and we’ll be taken more seriously by the clients. Also it will give the management a good picture about you. So that maybe you can get a better function or a larger salary pay.

You can send your ideas to me and than i will send them to the management, so that they can pick out the best idea.

With kind regards,

Marc Willigenburg
